5 ways to use a throwbed + a Hedgehouse Giveaway!

Living

Somewhere deep in the recesses of my psyche, I apparently get a great deal of love and happy feelings from something soft and cozy. In fact, most of the times that anything major happened in my life (happy, sad, whatever), my mom would show up with a new blanket. So it only makes sense that I am 100% here for the downy soft plushness of the Hedgehouse throwbed.

If you’ve hung around here much, then you’ve seen them pop up from time to time – and I LOVE them.  I love their plushy soft coziness, and subtle suggestion of summering in glamorous exotic places (even if it is just your regular ol’ backyard – hey, a girl can dream).

We use them in our house yearround and I thought I’d show you a few of the fun places they’ve popped up around here.

LAYER UPON LAYER

I’m all about a contrast welting, and these limited edition pretties  are utter perfection in our formal living room. I’ve currently got them layered on my chinoiserie-inspired sofa, and many a nap has occurred in both these spots.  If one throwbed is good, then two throwbeds is even better — that way you don’t have to argue over who gets to be the comfiest. 😉

Plus I love that the navy one offers a little bit of a visual break from all the pattern on that awesome sofa.

PILE THEM UP  FOR THE ULTIMATE SLEEPOVER

And of course you’re going to need a tent made out of a Hedgehouse linen towel.

ON THAT FRONT PORCH SWING

A classic ticking stripe is always a good choice, especially considering how durable they are for outdoor use.  I toss ours onto the front porch swing especially in the cooler months.

IN A PINCH: WEIGHTED BLANKET OR DOWN MATTRESS TOPPER

Soften up your bed by using a throwbed as a down mattress topper or as a weighted blanket, which is exactly how my husband uses ours. Or roll it up to provide the perfect cushion to read a book in bed.

TO SOFTEN HARD SPACES

Indoors or out, ours have been dragged all over the lake house, down to the waterfront for movies overlooking the water, and then back onto the porch swing for more coziness.  And it’s pretty darn cute in this Serena & Lily swing too.

DIY YOUR OWN SLEEPING PORCH

A vintage camping cot gets a whole new life with a stack of throwbeds. With summer on its way, wouldn’t this be such a fun thing to do with the kiddos and all the cousins?
