A fall master bedroom refresh

Color

Coastal-inspired style, but warming it up for cooler temps? Count me in.

Blue and white, I will love you forever! It’s my go-to color scheme year round, but with fall on the approach it’s nice to warm it up a bit with a contrasting pop of color. (Side tangent: apparently summer is over in Oklahoma City. Since when did a high of 80 become the norm in August? Not complaining one bit!)

With all the white in our master bedroom, it can fall a little flat if I don’t jazz it up with some contrasting texture and it feels fresh to bring in some rattan and other woven materials. I’m working on fixing up the master closet situation later in the fall, and have been majorly inspired to get us organized.  After staying in the Watersound house that had jute &  sisal rugs everywhere, I’m loving the texture and visual calm they bring to a space.  And the pop of bright orange feels like a perfect nod to fall. It’s crazy soft, too – I can’t wait for the temps to drop.

I’ve been on a major clean-out spree in the past week, and I realized I haven’t really rearranged anything in quite some time, which is pretty unusual for me. I completely removed everything off of my bedside table and started from scratch which felt so good and refreshing. No more clutter! Au revoir, Legos and Nerf gun darts! (I give it 24 hours before they magically reproduce ????) And then I took down everything off the walls and reassessed how I wanted the space to feel.

Still loving those striped Stray Dog lamps so much. I also pulled a few other accessories from the living room and rearranged my nightstand. Vase by Lawrence McRae. Art print by Minted.

We got two rolling laundry hampers – one for S and one for me – and they’re so enormous that Archer can hide in it, which naturally is great fun. We’ve had a few rolling laundry hamper races too. 😉

I’m headed to the lake today with Jude to go photograph a few houses in the community, so be sure to follow along on Instagram Stories for the updates. Gotta love some great real e-stalking!

Thanks to Serena & Lily for sponsoring today’s post. Check out all the latest fall arrivals that launched today!
