Playrooms are one of my favorite things in the world to dream up and design (as evidenced here and here). Since September is officially Baby Safety Month, Munchkin asked me if I’d do a few different playroom design roundups showing off their brand new premium baby gates. Playrooms don’t have to follow all the rules — they can be as whimsical and crazy as you can imagine! But being design-conscious, I particularly love that Munchkin gets that and made some pretty fab baby gates to keep it all tied together aesthetically. Form & function!
Pastel playrooms are the stuff of cotton candy dreams – happy yellows, pretty pinks, and soothing mint all come together beautifully. I love it paired against crisp white to tone it down a little. Look for natural wood and organic accents as well as unexpected details like the pastel-painted details on the bookshelf below. Black and white is a HUGE trend in interiors, not only for grown-up spaces but especially in nurseries and playrooms. It’s been a big deal in Europe for awhile and it’s finally starting to trickle over the Pond to the US. I love it – it feels fresh, unexpected, and it has the potential to age well with your kids. The Munchkin Luna safety gate is so cool – it has an LED light which is such a smart addition, especially in a place like on the stairs.
