Rue Magazine Covers the Lake House

Interiors

I know I talked about it on the Instagrams but figured I owed it a mention here. Rue Magazine did a story on our Boardwalk Bungalow over the 4th of July and I love how it turned out. (FYI – the listing to rent our house still has all the old ‘before’ photos and it’s funny to see the difference already!)

A few more detail shots that didn’t get included in the story and then I prahhhhhhhmise I’m done talking about the darn lake house living room redo.

I ordered this Lark shelf on sale from Serena & Lily back in May and after much back and forth with the delivery people, it finally got delivered to our OKC house. So Simon hauled it down to the lake for us because the delivery company didn’t have enough stuff to make it worthwhile to come to Eufaula. This is, of course, mind-boggling to us city people. I had measured for the space, but I was still surprised to see the height of it in person (and it’s the short one). Either way, it is lovely and sturdy and fits perfectly. And I’m having a love affair with that Target lamp (YES – Target!! – also obsessed with THIS ONE and THIS ONE) that reminds me of a Rejuvenation lamp I love for wayyyyyy more $$$.

I can’t remember if I told you how we bought those outdoor Safavieh bistro chairs. I probably did, but I’m braindead now after having two kids and thus, you’ll just have to bear with me in my old age. Unlike the serena & lily ones (which I also adore) these have an aluminum frame which makes them much more weather proof than the rattan framed ones. The weaving of the plastic is pretty much the same. And they’re a tremendous bargain.

The kitchen is NEVER this clean except for the two minutes after we have first arrived and before we have dumped out all of our things in what can only be described best as World War III. But let’s enjoy it here, memorialized for all time in photo.

I can’t find it online anymore, but I stumbled on the white ceramic basketweave garden table at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago and snapped it up. I think it was a seasonal item (isn’t everything a seasonal item there??) but it was 50% off and it’s been the perfect little side table.

Ahh the much-beloved bar cart. Which, to be honest, doesn’t get used all that much for the transporting of bar goods (too many small children and little hands/mouths). So it enjoys life as a coffee bar and also an iced tea dispensary.

Big thanks to Shop Waiting on Martha for scurrying to get us a few accessories for the shoot. The marble swirl vases are absolutely lovely and a GREAT price point. These jars are perfect too – great for everything from storing coffee pods to displaying flowers. Love love love.

Thanks again to Rue Mag for the feature!

Finally, please please please run over to Annie Selke and vote for my rug design by double-tapping the photo. That’s it! THANK YOU!!!!!

with love,
Rachel
