For two years now, I’ve been working with the Wes Welker Foundation to create the printed materials for their annual Cleats & Cocktails gala. The foundation provides sporting equipment and gear to at-risk youth in the Oklahoma City area. This year was the tenth anniversary of their event, and the theme was Diamonds in the Turf.  Invitations have been one of my favorite things to design for the past thirteen(!) years and I continue to be grateful for the clients who entrust their event to me.

The gala chairs for Cleats & Cocktails this year had a very specific look in mind for their event. Cool, classic, minimalistic, but with a little bit of bling.  Here was the “brand board” I came up with to set the tone for the paper products.

I love creating these for my clients because it’s a quick way to get a visual on the inspiration for the event, as well as the relevant typography, colorways, and any alternate logos or symbols we create.

Et voila – the official invitation was an elegant trifold design printed on pearl stock for a little extra sheen. Overall it was a budget friendly print job due to the size and number of colors.

Additionally, a special invitation is created for the VIP pre-party and this piece was maybe my most favorite. Printed again on the pearl stock, it had a nod to the gemstone theme of the evening but with a definitively distinct spin.
