Hello friends! I’m so happy to be over in this space after taking it easy the past couple of weeks. This third trimester business is no joke!  And true to pregnant lady form, I’m up to my neck in nesting. I couldn’t wait to get our colorful Christmas decorations up so they were already in place the week before Thanksgiving. I think maybe I’m so amped about Christmas this year because the closer it gets to December 25th, the closer I am to having this baby in January!

One of my favorite Christmas traditions from my own childhood are advent calendars. There’s no better way to channel the enthusiasm and anticipation for the season. And anticipation is 90% of any experience, isn’t it?  Jude’s been begging to get the advent calendar up and running and it’s been torture for him to wait until December 1st. I love that he has as much as enthusiasm for this tradition as I did when I was little.

This year I partnered with the Land of Nod to create this little advent corner of our home with their lovely Urban Pine advent calendar.   With twenty-five pockets to stuff full of goodies, this may be the easiest advent you’ll ever prep for. They even threw in all twenty-five perfect little pocket-sized goodies to stuff the advent calendar (I have to admit, sometimes I struggle with getting creative and am stuck for time).  I wanted to play off of our bright red Tolix chairs in our kitchen’s breakfast nook and keep everything cheerful and bright. And obviously not too easy for Jude to reach.
