With a clearly marked obsession for washi tape as evidenced numerous times on this blog, I always love finding different ways to use it, especially now that I have my very own washi tape designs to play around with.  When I was a kid, I always hoarded stickers, notepads, and favorite paper goods to use for a special occasion. Which is ridiculous because then I never used any of it. I still have drawers full of empty notebooks and journals just waiting for The Right Reason. So after years of amassing stuff like this, I decided not to let all that fun stuff go to waste anymore.

One of my favorite uses for washi tape is in my day planner to mark off special events both on the month views and daily views. And while this particular use is neither new nor novel, it really is one of my favorite things because it brings a smile to my face in a really simple way. And without my agenda, I’m totally up a creek. It keeps my life totally in order.

While I’m thoroughly tech obsessed with my laptop, desktop, iPad and iPhone all at my fingertips, you just can’t beat a paper day planner. I need to write, scribble, make to do lists, and get all the mishmashed thoughts of things that need to be done out of my head. Plus I love to keep them as almost a diary from past years.

Speaking of planners, I’ve bounced around to different ones over the past couple of years. My current faves are Whitney English’s Day Designer, Emily Ley’s Simplified Planner (shown here – so colorful!), and Kate Spade’s  agenda. Russell & Hazel also makes a cool little binder if you prefer to DIY your agenda (i.e., write in the dates yourself, etc.).

Do you have a favorite agenda that you use? I’d love to hear about it! Plus, in honor of everyone’s favorite day – April 15th! – coming up (erm, just kidding – taxes suck!) I’m offering 20% off in the shop on all paper goods (including washi tape!) with code APRILSHOWERS. Good thru this Friday at midnight. Happy shopping!

with love,
Rachel
