Powder bathroom reveal!

Interiors

Au revoir, peepee bathroom – hello happy beautiful blues!  REVEAL TIME is here! As a reminder, this was the before.

Demilune vanity, wallpaper from 2005, toilet that was perpetually clogged, and a light fixture I no longer even noticed because I hated it so much.   And now? A bright and happy little jewel box topped off with a cheery yellow lantern!

The smaller scale of the Edie wallpaper from Fabricut somehow works so much better than the previous paper, and I love the fresh color. From a distance, it reads as a texture, but up close you can see the little organic block print details to it. A great backdrop for artwork, etc.

Ok, so remember my secret vanity source? The Martha Stewart Living vanity was sourced at the Jameson Discount Warehouse in Yukon, and it was a perfect fit. They had oodles of vanities to choose from, but only one navy one, and I loved the marble counter and backsplash piece that came with it. You can still get the same vanity at Home Depot currently and it comes in a bunch of different sizes. The doors are soft-close, meaning they won’t ever slam. Win-win.  And,  I stumbled on the brass faucet set at Lowe’s for a steal — only $99 (when similar ones run upwards of $250!).

The mirror is one from Pottery Barn that I’ve had for several years and it’s been used in a few different spots in the house. Love the tassels and the leather.

I made a fun little gallery wall out of some bright and cheerful pieces I had around the house, and added a few other ones to the mix.  From top left clockwise: Gray Malin, Lonely Horizons Looking for Summer, Paule Marrot’s Yellow series, Hello Sunshine by Rifle Paper Co., Telephone art print.

The telephone print and colorful landscape photo are new acquisitions from Minted. I particularly love that pop of orangey-red (a signature color I love using throughout our house). And the Gray Malin was a gift to Simon a few years ago. I’m still awaiting the new toilet paper holder (brass!) but I finally got the shipping notification that it’s en route. I also need to find a brass towel ring. Why is this so tricky?!

I switched out the old white plastic GFCI plate covers with a new brass outlet cover from CB2  and I got a matching one for the light switch cover. A little thing, but makes it feel just that much more designed and finished.

At some point, I’ll switch out the hardware on the vanity for brass, but I ran out of time.

A relatively simple but gratifying makeover that was completed in a pretty quick turnaround. Nothing like a deadline to get things done!
