Modern Monochromatic Screened-In Porch Reveal

Interiors

We’re practically halfway through summer, and I promise that even if you’re sick of the heat already, you’re going to want to spend all day on this stunning screened-in porch.  Remember a few months back when I showed you the preview for my client’s Kardashians-inspired (GAHHH I KNOW) lounge porch? The reveal is finally ready for its closeup!

The showstopper of this space is undoubtedly the pair of hanging daybeds. We had them custom built by our favorite maker here in OKC (he built my swing and everybody else’s in Carlton Landing) and we took the color inspiration from the existing black, white and grey color scheme.

The room is definitely outdoors but doesn’t get a ton of direct sun exposure. That being said, everything on this porch is designed to withstand the Oklahoma elements of wind, rain, heat, etc.  The outdoor mattresses are covered in a Sunbrella fabric and of course a contrast welt in black (because I would contrast welt my children if I could; that’s how much I love a good piping). The pillows are a range of thick and thin black stripes, and we tossed a couple of Hedgehouse throwbeds on for extra cushion.

My client’s husband likes to smoke cigars and she was worried about the smell permeating the upholstery, so we did a pair of these outdoor chairs from West Elm that could easily be scooted either outside or to the corner of the porch.

My client found those Rhodes Chippendale-style outdoor chairs at Pottery Barn and I was THRILLED. They’re absolutely perfect and such an interesting contrast to the rest of the space.

So so dreamy. I’m absolutely in love.

Absolutely obsessed. And the best part is that they’ve texted me numerous times to tell me how much they love sitting out there. I have already threatened/offered to move in and live on the porch for the rest of my days, no laundry or cooking required.  And it’s only going to get better as the seasons change. I would absolutely die of happiness to lounge on this porch on a crisp fall day!
