I am THRILLED to say that my collaboration with Jill Rosenwald is finally here! We’ve got started on this collaboration when she she came to Oklahoma City last June for a trunk show. We sat over coffee and sketched out ideas, chatting about social media and kids and all those other things. She tossed out the idea of coming to Boston to visit the studio and my mind started to spin.
Fast forward to a few months later after an initial round of samples and I arrived in Boston on a gorgeous afternoon in September after attending the BHG Stylespotters event in New York. I spent the afternoon in Jill’s studio sketching and handling all the different pieces, trying out different arrangements and sizes, like a kid in a colorful candy store. And this happy little collection of seven pieces was born, right then and there.
I wanted something that felt like a colorblock stripe, but we pushed the concept a little further to include both horizontal and vertical stripes. And of course it’s all grounded with my signature Neapolitan stripe in that goooooorgeous cocktail tray.
When I finally received all the final samples, I couldn’t stop smiling. They’re so ME – so happy, stripey, and bright. I designed them to be beautiful together or on their own – and you could use them for practically anything from floral arrangements to bookends to utensil holders in your kitchen, or as pencil cups on your desk.
Each piece is hand thrown there in Jill’s Boston studio and then masterfully painted by her fab team there (watch this video!) before being fired. And of course they’re glammed up a bit with just a hint of gold edging.
My favorite piece is probably that darling little footed cafe au lait bowl.
The entire collection can be viewed and purchased at Jill’s site www.jillrosenwald.com and if you’re a qualifying wholesale buyer, you can also snap up the collection to retail in your shop! Hoorayyyyyyyyy!
