It must be the graphic designer in me that loves the wrapping of the gifts more than the gift itself. After all, it’s all about the packaging, is it not? I’ve always enjoyed creating beautiful packages with creative giftwrap, so I thought I’d show you a few fun options for this year.
ONE: ALL MAPPED UP
Is your loved one moving to a new city this year? Why not wrap up a gift full of local goodies in a map of what will surely become all their new favorite spots! The Western Avenue Association in Oklahoma City did this fun guide to all the different businesses & restaurants along that corridor and it makes for some fun and unexpected giftwrap.
If it were me, I’d also include a Keep It Local Card. 😉
Wrap it up and tie it with a bow that integrates the colors of the map for extra cheer.
And on the flip side of the paper, all the different services, businesses, restaurants, and community favorites just waiting to be explored.
TWO: WALL TO WALL WRAPPING
Got some extra wallpaper laying around? It’s definitely hardier than regular wrapping paper and provides a ton of graphic punch to your presents.
I’ve snapped up rolls of wallpaper at garage sales for a steal; this Thibaut paper was a remnant from our entryway.
THREE: HAPPY PHOTO GIFT TAGS
One of my favorite purchases this year was a Fujifilm mini polaroid camera. And these would make for adorable gift tags, especially for little kids who will think it’s so fun to hunt for their photo on all the presents under the tree.
Happy wrapping!
