Happy weekend, friends! We’re off on our Pacific Coast Highway adventure this weekend and I may or may not have attempted to pack for the entire long weekend in a carryon suitcase, which was then rendered a moot point as Simon has to check his suitcase anyway. Oh well — we’re child-free and excited to explore the coast. Our itinerary is as follows:
Day 1: Malibu, where we’ll stay at the Malibu Beach Inn. YUM.
Day 2: Santa Barbara –> Solvang –> San Simeon
Day 3: Hearst Mansion tour –> Big Sur –> Carmel
Day 4: Carmel/Monterey
Day 5: Stanford/Silicon Valley
Follow along on Instagram to catch our adventures live! Ok, on to this weekend’s 5 things:
ONE
I’m having a full on love affair with the Laundress. I received a sample of their Wash & Stain bar at an event last year, and it sat unused in my drawer until last week when someone mentioned what a great product it was. It smelled good, but I am absolutely a believer now in what an effective stain remover it is. I also bought their signature detergent and it is insanely good. Save it for your unmentionables, sheets, and whites — in other words, I wouldn’t waste it on stinky teenagers who won’t care that their stuff now smells like the perfume of heaven.
TWO
A fun makeover of plain white folding doors…
THREE

FOUR
So many great rooms came out of this spring’s One Room Challenge, but Paige Minear‘s makeover is my favorite.
FIVE
How to lay out a narrow living room (I particularly like the helpful floor plans!)
