I think I mentioned a few months back about Simon’s involvement with the Orchestra League.  One of the main fundraisers for the OL is the Symphony Showhouse, an annual event that we have enjoyed for several years. A homeowner will graciously offer their house up to be completely taken over and redecorated from top to bottom.  Simon was this year’s design cochairman and he was responsible for choosing the designers for the house.  After many months of blood, sweat, and tears, the Showhouse is ready to open, and one of the events we’ve looked forward to is the opening gala.  Really, any excuse to get all gussied up, am I right?

So I got a new dress (from eBay!) and Simon got a new bow tie, and Jude went off to spend an evening with his cousins.

I kinda felt like it was Prom 2011!  Ha!

Jude’s face cracks me up in this next photo.

Look at that gorgeous silk bow tie. I die.  I couldn’t take my eyes off of him all night long. He was so crazy dapper.  Don Draper fabulous.

The night started out with a champagne tour of the house, which looks cool. If you go, definitely check out the guest house (my favorite!) and the cinema room in the basement (wallpaper of Gone with the Wind down the stairs — Scarlett & Rhett kissing!)

After the tour, it was off to the country club for the dinner.

I’m so proud of Simon – he’s done a great job this year, and the house looks great!  Job well done, Mr. Shingleton!  I love you!

with love,
Rachel
