In junior high, I bought a pair of the gaudiest Mary Janes you’ve ever seen in your life. They were coated in a thick layer of silver glitter. Crunchy, flaky silver glitter. And I loved them. I wore them to school with all kinds of goofy stuff. I’m sure I was a junior high train wreck, but I did love those shoes. I kinda wonder if my mom still has them hidden away somewhere. They’d be fun to have now for costumes and such.

Anyway, in Dallas last weekend, I was checking out the sale merch at Neiman’s and there were these Stuart Weitzman flats that were identical in glitter to my ol’ MJs.

Brought a tear to my eye.

Ok, not really. But it did make me smile.
