Week in Review
And, just like that, it’s Friday. Muchas gracias to the ever-stylish MrsLimestone at Brooklyn Limestone for hosting my guest post this week. If you’re new here, thanks for stopping by! I’ve already enjoyed chitchatting with a couple of you guys. Can I just say how much comments make my day? I try to reply to the majority of them. Please don’t think I’m ignoring you; when I was hosted by WordPress.com, I was able to respond via email and it would post both to the blog and to the commenter’s email. Since then, though, I’ve lost that functionality; I need to figure out how to set that back up again. I’ve been anticipating this particular week for quite awhile. If you’ve stuck around here for awhile, you’ll remember that during the school year I attend Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). It’s a worldwide study w/ chapters all over the world. I’ve been attending for 4 years now, and at the end of last year, I was honored to be asked to pray about considering joining the leadership team for my particular group. I felt like God was really encouraging me to do it; after all, He’d brought me through a really tough year. Probably the hardest of my life. And my dad said something really profound with me: “Hon, you haven’t even scratched the surface of your potential yet.” Dad’s really good at making encouraging, life-goal statements like that. So I agreed to help out with the leadership, and I was placed as a Children’s Leader for this year. The prepwork is really intense. I co-lead a class of 15 three-year-olds, and they are precious little kids. Little sponges that just suck up whatever environment they’re in. Anyway, this was the first official week starting back and so it was also my first week in our new routine. Mondays are free. Tuesdays, I’m in BSF leadership meetings in the mornings. Wednesday is the actual BSF class day. Thursday is Jude’s day at school (Mother’s Day Out). And that brings us to Friday and we’re pretty much wiped out, still in our jammies, watching movies. Graphic design work is being done during Jude’s naptime, Mother’s Day Out, and after bedtime. Overall it’s been a great week, but man am I tired! Admittedly I’m not the bestest housekeeper ever, so the house has kinda been on my backburner, as is the laundry. I think I need a housewife of my own.
Next week, I’m taking Jude to see Disney on Ice at the great state fair of Oooooooklahoma. Should be fun. I have good memories of my folks taking me when I was little. That might account for my childhood desire of growing up to be a figure skater. Also next week I hope to have photos of the Liberty Gala programs I designed. Can’t wait to see how they turned out. The OCPA was a dream to work with. I can’t say enough good things about the experience!
Finally, are you in the OKC area? Are you looking for furniture? I have two Craigslist items that I’m looking to move.
Have a great weekend! What are your plans?
