One Room Challenge: Week 5

One Room Challenge - Chinoiserie updates www.pencilshavingsstudio.com

We’ve only got one week left of the One Room Challenge (see week 1week 2week 3, week 4) and I’m still scrambling for a handful of things.

But the big stuff is in, and man, are we happy! Back in April when I attended the High Point design bloggers’ tour, one of the sponsors was Crypton, which I knew nothing about. Crypton makes some pretty amazing performance fabrics and I was intrigued. I wondered if I really could get an all-white sofa that would be kid, dog, and life-proof. Crypton got together with furniture maker Rowe to call my bluff and the next thing I knew, my dream white sofa with navy contrast welt was on its way to us.

Isn’t it pretty?! I mean wowza. It is gorrrrrgeous. And I need to figure out a video or something to show you guys all the things I’ve done to it. I’ve literally smeared nutella, chocolate birthday cake, red wine, a Sharpie, and Crayola markers on the thing. And I can’t see a stain anywhere. The dog has already yakked on it (OF COURSE) and the kids have eaten Halloween candy on it.   Jury’s still out on how to tackle general smears and, say, dark denim rubs but hey, so far I’m a believer.

Also? Kids are gross. So are dogs.

Anyway, all’s well that ends well because it’s all kid and dog proof, right down to the pillows and Dash & Albert rug.

Hop over to IG to see any sneak peeks! One week left!
