One Room Challenge: Week 3

Interiors

Week 3 of the One Room Challenge – we’re halfway there!

The biggest things that have happened this week involve lots of waiting. Since there wasn’t any major renovation happening in this room (and it’s all primarily cosmetic/furnishing change) I’m kind of at the mercy of the furniture delivery guys.  LivenUp posted a couple of updates on Instagram of my x-benches and my waterfall table and O M G I cannot wait to get my hands on these babies! They shipped out yesterday and I can’t stop peeking at the photos. That waterfall table is divine – and enormous! I love that it’s a total one of a kind.

The x benches are also covered in Crypton*, in the same Sky fabric (different colorway) that I chose for the sectional. Since I needed the scale of the table to be so large, I went with an extra wide design to balance it all out. These will be awesome as additional seating in the living room but also for the breakfast nook too, if need be.

That whole Meredith Heron* line of fabrics is oh-so-chic, and it’s ridiculously durable since it’s made in collaboration with Crypton fabrics. I would’ve been nervous to do fabric with small kids otherwise — but this is a no-brainer and it’s crazy fabulous.  I looked at a ton of different MH for JF Fabrics options and loved Brooklyn, Ledgewood, Paris, Pirko, and Waters, but Hicken was the winner. (I’m still wanting to get my hands on the Waters in yellow. SO GOOD.)

I also pulled all the artwork off the gallery wall around the TV and to get it out of the way I propped it all up on the mantel. It’s giving me hives just looking at it all. With the rug being as bold and busy as it is, I’m appreciating the serenity that those all white walls are giving. It’s kind of a nice break for your eyes to not be looking at allllll the things. So I’ll probably hang a lot of these pieces in the stairwell or scatter them around the house.

Still trying to decide what to do with that leather club chair. I’ve had it since I was 15, if you can believe it! It’s pretty beaten up but still comfy. Maybe a good piece to send to the lake?

Oh! And I forgot to mention that I’ve been hunting a scarf to frame. I REALLLLLLY wanted to find a fab Hermes scarf for cheap, but they’re so $$$ even in resale.  And the ones I liked were either too big or not the right colorway for the room. So we’ll see what else I can drum up.

The red pagoda mirror* got hung up next to the back door and I LURVE it.

Ok, that’s it for this week. Follow along on Instagram for more sneak peeks along the way! And stop by the One Room Challenge participants as they share their transformations.  Thanks to Linda at CallingItHome and media sponsor House Beautiful.
