A few things

Family

Jude’s been at day camp all week long and  we are officially pooped from hauling it across town to get him there in time for checkin at 8:45 every morning. It’s actually been kind of a nice trial run for how school is going to be — and it makes me grateful for the remaining weeks that we have together now that we’re on the downhill slope to a fresh school year.

Meanwhile, I’ve been cranking out the work projects and getting orders filled before we head out for a week’s vacation at the beach. Because what’s summer without a vacation, right?  We scheduled ours kinda late in the game, but we’re headed off to Rosemary Beach for a lovely week of fun and sun and staying in the cutest little carriage house. I’m excited about checking out the architecture and the whole New Urbanism concept – and the fabulous Tracery Interiors  shop (I DIE).

ipod

Oh, did you see the photo I posted on IG (above)? First generation original iPod with an actual spinning wheel. I remember being so excited when I got it for Christmas. It went with me to Paris for my final summer as an exchange student in 2003 – it was like having my own movie soundtrack. Then one afternoon I was mugged (well, more like purse snatched) while painting by the Canal St-Martin, and all I could think was, “At least he didn’t take my iPod!”

Speaking of painting, Erin finished up my gorgeous new painting for my kitchen. I’m so madly in love – it’s insanely perfect, and the color is … well, there are no words. It’s so beautiful.

Fun things to take into the weekend –

I think I might be more excited about Kathleen’s baby than I am about the royal baby. Congratulations, friends!

My nephew Ben and I found this video on YouTube and we could not stop laughing all weekend long.

I kinda want this skort. Yes. SKORT.

This photoshoot is crazy adorable. I wanna do this with Jude’s buddies.

Bri killed it with this photoshoot featuring Topshop.

I love the hi-lo shirttail hem on this tank. Perfect for leggings or skinny jeans when you want your booty covered.

Happy weekend! See you guys next week w/ a fun hair tutorial — xoxo!

with love,
Rachel
