Behind the Scenes

Family

Last week we (and by we, I mean Jude) were invited by Uptown Kids to participate in a holiday photoshoot in downtown OKC. It was a blustery afternoon around 4 o’clock, and we met off of 9th Street in an alley across from the Flaming Lips building (above).Angel Porch (of Art & Soul Photography fame) has been the official UTK photographer for awhile now, and every time I see her, I am so impressed. She’s so talented, but beyond that, she is so good with kids. Let me tell you, it is no easy task to get several kid of varying ages (read: varying attention spans) to not only look at you, but be happy about it too! She’s also just so darn cute! Which is, of course, excellent criteria for anything.

The models awaited their call to change clothes in front of … um, animal graffiti? The best part was when all the kids stood in front of it and started arguing. “No, it’s a bear!” “No, it’s a dog!” “NO, it’s a rabbit!”

Clothes were changed and hair was fixed. Shenanigans ensued.

Angel always comes prepared with some great props, and this year was no exception. She always has the cutest furniture.

Jude’s hat is killin’ me. As is the velvet blazer.  I think I want one in my size.

Being in an active alleyway  meant 2 separate giant UPS trucks barreling through at different intervals. Just enough to keep everyone on their toes.

And the final result? Check out these proofs that Angel posted over on Facebook. So. Crazy. Cute.

with love,
Rachel
